The Doodlebug was common in the early to mid 20th century on shortlines and branchlines where traffic densities were too heavy for the smaller railbus but not heavy enough for locomotive-hauled passenger trains.

At first gasoline-powered then later diesel-powered, the Doodlebug was cheap to maintain and fast to service, and was a practical solution to the needs of passenger operations.

Aristo-Craft's superbly detailed 1:29 scale Doodlebug features working headlight and marker lights, interior lighting and detail, opening doors, and Aristo-Craft's new 2-axle power bogie. The Doodlebug is sure to be a fine addition to any large scale layout.
