Classic Railbus
The Railbus was common in the early part of the 20th century on narrow gauge railways, shortlines and branchlines where traffic densities were light. Much like its larger cousin the Doodlebug, the gasoline-powered Railbus was cheaper to maintain and faster to service and turn around than traditional locomotive-hauled passenger trains. |
